Front Range Mountains
The Front Range is the first mountain range that pops up from the seemingly endless plains of eastern North America. The snowy peaks line the western horizon as seen from the cities of Ft. Collins, Boulder, Denver, and Colorado Springs.
Rocky Mountain National Park is probably the most famous portion of the Front Range, and sees the majority of Colorado's alpine tourists. The highlight of the park for mountain climbers is Longs Peak, a fourteener that boasts one of Colorado's largest rock faces. The Front Range runs north–south between Casper, Wyoming, and Pueblo, Colorado, and rises nearly 10,000 feet above the Great Plains. Longs Peak, Mount Evans, and Pikes Peak are its most prominent peaks, visible from Interstate 25 corridor.
